Air Guitar World Championships

23.–25.8.2023 Oulu, Finland

National Champions of 2022 are here!

The last National Championships were held in France and Australia last weekend, so it is time to announce the National Champions of 2022! The 8 national champions come from the United States, France, Thailand, Australia, and Kenya.

Frederic “French Kiss” Reau returns to Oulu after winning the 2021 championships of France! His passion of air guitar has lasted for 50 years and he’s even made an air guitar documentary “French Kiss goes to Oulu” with his son.

Apolline “Lady Attila” Andreys is the newly crowned French champion of 2022! Rocking her way through the intense finals, she bypassed “French Kiss” who came in 3rd place this year.

Rob “Donald Trump” Palmer thrilled the audience and won the 2022 national championships of Thailand, which were now held for the second time. As judge Charles the French commented, “he made Thailand great again, for sure”.

The teacher from Perth has done it again! Alex “Jinja Assassin” Roberts has taken the title of Australia’s national champion of 2022.

Charles Kariuki Ndung’u aka the “Slim” won the 2022 national championships in Kenya! We’re happy to welcome Kenya and Slim to the AGWC network!

Andrew Finn aka “Flying Finn” won the US Championships back in 2021 and is making his way to the world championships!

Rachel ‘Hott Mess’ Sinclair is the 2022 U.S. Air Guitar Champion! The 20th annual US Championships were her fifth appearance in the national competition and first championship title.

And last but definitely not least, Rob “The Marquis” Messel, the 2019 Air Guitar World Champion returns to Oulu to defend his title!

We can’t wait to welcome all the national champions to Oulu for our 25th World Championships! The surprises are far from over though – we will find out who join the finals along with the champs after the intense Dark Horse Qualifications Round on Thursday 25!
